Denbies is the biggest. Godstone claims to be the most beautiful. I'm talking about Vineyards. What are your experiences of Surrey's? I've read so much about them but have yet to actually make it out the door to one. Although very much look forward to stumbling home on my return!

I visited Denbies the other day actually. Bought a lovely tipple and had a lovely day. Best to get the train over there if you can so that you can sample the goods!

I can recommend Painshill Wine as well. Spent many a happy day down that way.

Well I guess the question now is...

If given the choice would you take a bottle of Surrey wine over one from elsewhere?

And, if your answer is elsewhere, where is your favourite region?

I'm quite the conniseur really, I'll take my wine from anywhere to be honest. My tastebuds aren't particularly loyal to geography.

I, along with a number of the other guys from Surrey Life, had the pleasure of attending the Surrey Business Awards launch last night at Denbies and I have to say that the wine was as impressive as ever. My personal taste lies more with Shiraz-y type wines usually but the softer English wine is certainly very drinkable to - as my head keeps reminding me today.

For all those interested in Surrey drink. We've got a feature on Surrey beer coming up in the October magazine and I have to admit to being rather partial to a pint of Hogs Back T.E.A as well. Right, where'd I leave the paracetemol?!

I agree with TheDorkishInquisition (nice name by the way) and am currently drinking a nice Australian Shiraz Cabernet. I like a bit more spice to my wine and find any time that I've tried an English wine that they are, well, a bit plain for my tastes.

P.S. the beer feature was right up my street thanks. Nothing quite like a pint of your local brew. Didn't realise that there were so many breweries in the are. Will have to start going to a few more local beer festivals.
